Android 10 is official: that’s it, that’s the name.

Google quits quaint tradition, quelling the quandary created by the quixotic quest to answer a quadrillion querulous questions about desert names. I have qualms and feel queasy, but it is less quirky.https://t.co/KB7vi5Xfd6

I have spent years obsessively guessing what desserts Google will name Android after. Android Q was my White Whale, but today, the company has announced that it’ll just be using numbers going forward.

So hello, Android 10. And now my watch has ended.https://t.co/OWnteetWzQ pic.twitter.com/dDQhYxwGz6
The quince lobby is going to be devastated. The next Android version, previously labeled Android Q, is just going to be called Android 10. The sweets (my first Androids were Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo) were fun but apparently not globally relatable.https://t.co/OZYUR9XJZm

And Android Q is... Android 10. What do you think about the major name change? https://t.co/Goxylkb8hr @CNET

Android Q skips the sweets, will simply be called Android 10 https://t.co/ubOSyp3JFk via @CNET

Personally I am disappointed that we're never going to get Android Rasgulla. @sundarpichai you've let us all down. https://t.co/C8Dol2cjw0
— ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (@PranavDixit) August 22, 2019
you didn't hear it from me, but Google will continue naming Android releases internally as desserts (these are not the same as the public names. For example, KitKat's internal name was KLP - Key Lime Pie).
— David Ruddock (@RDRv3) August 22, 2019
Android 10's internal name is QC: Queen Cake
Android Q will be called #Android10. As a global operating system, it’s important that the release names are clear and relatable for everyone in the world. Learn more: https://t.co/VKBcoSBGLt pic.twitter.com/Ek7izFEnuq

Aww. I was hoping that Google would name Android Q after the Luxembourgian dessert quetschentaart. https://t.co/FN8n98MVFC
