For what it's worth, I'm fairly sure this will outstrip sales of the original 2:1, BUT the decisions made to get the prices down feel really poorly considered/might actually hurt the device's perception

the "switch" lite

except it loses literally everything about it that makes it "switch"-able https://t.co/A4Lbr0CgsQ
I understand taking out motion controls and rumble, but the weirdest thing about the Switch Lite is that you can’t adjust the brightness? https://t.co/ztVhDAmVns

I use my switch as a solo handheld device probably about 95% of the time, suspect lots of other people do as well. So a redesign that's focused on making it a more comfortable handheld? That makes a *lot* of sense to me. The Switch Lite looks great: https://t.co/zWvluBDfH2

I think what happened here is that Nintendo didn’t know if the Switch would succeed, and now that it has it can become just a plain-vanilla platform, absent the gimmicks. This is what’s happened to every Nintendo for 20 years.https://t.co/jY7qbYdvUT

Thoughts on Nintendo Switch Lite: Its cool for those who want more affordable Switch & doesn't need care for playing on TV. As for me, the standard Switch is all I need. A hybrid of both is better for me. I like being able to switch between TV and handheldhttps://t.co/hkPSLunvk3

nintendo’s latest console is a... worse switch?
— dan seifert (@dcseifert) July 10, 2019
it’s great that it’s cheaper, but the switch has been out for like 3 years now, economies of scale should have been able to push the price down on the full fat model much more than they have https://t.co/CMd5PJ6gTj
i’m sure Nintendo has plenty of data on how little Switch owners actually use them docked to a TV, but it’s a bummer that you have to give up all of the other things like Labo and rumble, and the new Switch STILL doesn’t offer Bluetooth audio.
— dan seifert (@dcseifert) July 10, 2019
Switch Lite is gonna be very popular, especially debuting with the library of great games Switch has amassed over the past few years. I hope this leaves room open for a higher-end model to improve docked performance

I play my Switch in handheld mode 99% of the time, and I use a D-pad JoyCon for almost all games, so this new Switch would be plenty for me. That smaller screen would kill my eyes though (the games are designed for high res), and it’s a shame to lose Labo. Fair trade-off though. https://t.co/TbxU1WzHOc
