Microsoft bans the use of Slack internally. A newly leaked list reveals that security is at the heart of the ban. AWS and Google Docs are also highly discouraged for use by Microsoft’s 100,000+ employees. Details here: https://t.co/e49S1f2IXo pic.twitter.com/YGc7xZaP3B

The people getting riled up over this clearly have never worked in corporate. This is standard practice, more importantly, this is SANE practice.
— Josh Hendrickson (@CanterRain) June 22, 2019
Notice Slack standard is banned but Slack Enterprise isn't. You don't want your source code to end up in an unsecured instance. https://t.co/rXZ7q3yC2A
This is excellent—it’s the best shot Teams has to become usable by humans. https://t.co/I8FurHGLWd

This headline is misleading. The ban and discouragement is security related. The text in the article actually says that but the headline doesn't mention security. https://t.co/GMHEzGCjZe

if Microsoft's own products were compelling enough to use, it wouldn't need to ban competitors internally.
— dan seifert (@dcseifert) June 22, 2019
I say this as someone who likes a lot of Microsoft's products. But Teams sure isn't as good as Slack and Office Online isn't as collaborative as Google Docs.
ahhhh there’s that microsoft we all know, it was just in hiding for a few years https://t.co/plJ5K7LHmq

The @SlackHQ's #direct #listing (not #IPO), has many venture capital firms. But only a few stand out:
— Chris Harvey (@ChrisHarveyEsq) June 20, 2019
1. @Accel owns 23.8% of Slack at $26 per share on @NYSE = $3.1 billion
2. @a16z owns 13% = $1.7 billion
3. @socialcapital owns 10% = $1.3 billion

The @Accel team has been quietly placing smart bets for years (see: @Atlassian, @Qualtrics, @Dropbox, @Flipkart, @Spotify, @CrowdStrike, @pagerduty, etc). With today's @SlackHQ's direct listing, it's great there's an occasion to recognize this. https://t.co/Hmimu7knbC
