Twitter’s updated T&Cs look clearer - yet it still can’t say no to Nazis [techcrunch.com]
Twitter simplifies its rules on safety, privacy and more [www.engadget.com]
Rules should be easy to understand. We heard you, ours weren’t. We updated, reordered, and shortened them, so you can know what’s not allowed on Twitter. Click through this thread for all our rules, and read our blog to learn more. https://t.co/d5GJp8urMV

This thread summarising twitter’s “rules” appears sensible and fair. In my experience, the issue is not so much the rules, but the unclear and uneven enforcement of alleged or actual violations of the rules. I suspect that will be the case going forward as well. https://t.co/xaf5DaFBkK

Our rules exist to help keep people safe and ensure they can participate freely in the public conversation. As Twitter has evolved, so have our rules, but over time they'd become confusing, disorganized, and sometimes unnecessarily long.

We refreshed Twitter's rules so they are easier to understand and to make clearer what's not acceptable on Twitter and why. From 2500 words to under 600! Take a look and let us know what you think... https://t.co/P9rzf7O4Cy

Great. Now apply these evenly and enforce them. Will be watching eagerly. https://t.co/XBlv3kQQlN

Related, Twitter just refreshed its rules. Mostly a formatting fix (removing redundant bits, clarifying certain things, etc.). Should be interesting to see if this makes a difference in terms of enforcement (which, like YouTube, has been very inconsistent) https://t.co/0IH4YxjvIq

The problem with these rules are three outstanding noticable things for me
— ???Breezy??? (@Vickivbreezy) June 6, 2019
#1) Twitter is now Saudi Owned and Operated
#2)Rules that do not apply to both parties are not fair and impartial.
#3)Rules that are being manipulated when convenient are not fair.https://t.co/JdtGP7Au7H
