— Karl Bode (@KarlBode) April 17, 2019
The phone comes with this protective layer/film. Samsung says you are not supposed to remove it. I removed it, not knowing you’re not supposed to (consumers won’t know either). It appeared removable in the left corner, so I took it off. I believe this contributed to the problem. pic.twitter.com/fU646D2zpY

Let's say Samsung has sent out ~1,000 review units of the Galaxy Fold to reporters. That's a 0.3% failure rate within *two days*. And it's due to go on sale to the public next week. Samsung can't possibly go through with the launch, right? https://t.co/k5pOhpO4GH

In reality there’s no way for Samsung to come back from this situation without seriously delaying or canceling the Galaxy Fold entirely. Doesn’t matter how it happened. This is such a significant failure - such a core anxiety that someone would have around the product.
