You know what's so cool to me about language rankings like this:https://t.co/RLhPbjmwia

1) JavaScript comes out on top every time
2) For some reason they separate TypeScript from JavaScript... And JavaScript STILL comes out on top.
That's bonkers.
You can say what you want about JavaScript, but it is the worlds most important language ?♂️

Typescript is now the fastest growing language of all time. Someone predicted this few years ago.https://t.co/Gxm2D0ofZz https://t.co/cpng4MKNqt

Given how Python and R are the two primary languages for data science, I'm surprised that there's a 11 point gap between them.https://t.co/j59wNZUTJc

2019 Redmonk programming popularity rankings: #Scala seems pretty stable, hovering just outside the top 10, while Typescript and Kotlin have surged.

If the future of programming is a lot more Typescript and Kotlin, that sounds pretty good overall!https://t.co/qbSjUgceJ9

I see Golang is behind:
- A letter of the alphabet ("C")
- A shiny rock ("Ruby")
- A house for a crab ("Shell")
- An adjective ("Swift")
- CSS ?
And of course, ?
Better luck next year!https://t.co/H4SiSigQCg pic.twitter.com/bvJUNYNLYA

Looking at @sogrady's most recent language rankings (https://t.co/R1LV71hNGS), seems that all the rising languages *must* have a big vendor to push them. This wasn't always the case, right? (C++...?) I'm no expert. Was there a time when languages didn't need a vendor to push them?
