More than 400 PC designs have been enabled with Thunderbolt 3. We want to accelerate that adoption, so we're releasing a protocol that enables other chip makers to build Thunderbolt compatible silicon, royalty-free. @GetThunderbolt #Iamintel https://t.co/vkDEsJkx7o

But a year in, they’ll introduce a new spec that rebrands USB4 to USB 4.2 Gen2.2x4.4 UltraSpeed and introduces new cables that’ll look identical to the previous ones but nothing will work right unless you have the new ones. https://t.co/TXHJtfOWmg

Wow they somehow made USB and Thunderbolt even more confusing https://t.co/tp0xpkzoTs

Giving away the “Thunderbolt” name along with it would have been useful. I’m sure that’ll make UIs super clear to refer to the same tech with different names and non-matching numbers.https://t.co/lxV4s9Js6Y
