의 E2E(end-to-end Encryption) 도입으로 사용자는 클라우드에 저장된 백업된 메시지 기록을 보호할 수 있습니다. 이 기능을 사용하면 클라우드 백업을 저장할 때 사용자 데이터를 의도하지 않은 타사로부터 사용할 수 있게 만들 수 있는 이전에 알려진 보안 격차를 해결할 수 있습니다. 20억 명 이상의 WhatsApp 사용자가 이 앱을 통해 E2E(end-to-end Encryption)를 통해 클라우드 기반 백업을 암호화할 수 있기 때문에 보안이 대폭 강화될 예정입니다. WhatsApp 사용자는 앱 내의 통신이 암호화되어 있어 보낸 사람과 지정된 수신인만 메시지를 볼 수 있도록 하는 것을 즐겼습니다.

• 페이스북의 왓츠앱은 금요일 사용자들이 암호화 키를 자체 관리할 수 있는 옵션으로 안드로이드에서는 구글 드라이브에, iOS에서는 애플 아이클라우드에 채팅 기록의 E2E 암호화 백업을 저장할 수 있게 될 것이라고 말했습니다.
• 따라서 계정 소유자가 백업에 액세스해야 하는 경우 암호 또는 64자리 키를 사용하여 백업 키 볼트에서 암호화 키를 검색하여 백업을 해독할 수 있습니다.
• "WhatsApp은 이와 같은 규모의 글로벌 메시징 서비스로는 처음으로 암호화된 메시징 및 백업을 제공하며, 이를 위해서는 운영 체제 전반에 걸쳐 주요 스토리지 및 클라우드 스토리지에 대한 완전히 새로운 프레임워크가 필요했습니다."라고 Facebook의 최고 경영자인 Mark Zuckerberg는 게시물에서 말했습니다.
