The FSF feels *great* about bringing back Richard Stallman. They think the problem is how they communicated it.

The Free Software Foundation cannot be redeemed. It is all done. We are now in a post-FSF world, and I think that will soon prove to be for the best. https://t.co/d4fKCqIxzI
I'm really grateful that the FSF board took the time to clarify this.

This makes it crystal clear that they's rather have RMS around than become an inclusive and welcoming environment to more than half the people who write software.

The FSF doubles down on restoring RMS after his non-apology apology https://t.co/sPTpANox5M via @ZDNet & @sjvn The #FSF now, more than ever, is little more than a Richard M. Stallman fan club. #opensource

It took him a year and a half to issue an apology , and FSF says they need his vision, so they brought him back. Something tells me this is not over yet. Only time will tell.

A word of PR advice: don't tell people how to feel. If you had sorted out that apology first (https://t.co/lIfrWA1u7q), waited, listened, and gone from there, you might not be in the unenviable situation where your remaining supporters are a mob from 4chan.
