If Apple is experimenting with a hardware combo of video streamer, smart speaker and camera ... surely they have to be thinking about adding a screen in there too and ya know just making the actual TV.

Logistically, an Apple TV box with an integrated camera is easier said than done: a lot of people have their TVs mounted on a wall and the box is hidden off to the side or in a cabinet, so the camera would not be at a good angle to actually see people in the room.

If they do it well, potentially a big seller. https://t.co/gWnW9ee77p

News story: Apple is working on a new flagship smart home device — a combo Apple TV box and HomePod with a camera. Plus, a a HomePod with an iPad attached by robotic arm, similar to the Amazon Echo Show, also being explored. https://t.co/vhwLbVLkt8

Apple TV + HomePod + Camera for video calling on your TV is a thing a LOT of people might actually want, as long as it’s not $500 https://t.co/FjWZnb4gMc

If robotic arm makes my coffee, I'm in. https://t.co/D2xmPvh2Ru

Sounds cool, though the robotic arm might be overkill. https://t.co/iNT8qIRTIg

When I found the camera framework references in tvOS I thought that was for a nest hub competitor but an Apple TV set top box that can do video conferencing sounds interesting. Microsoft had something similar when Xbox Kinect was a thing but this rumor includes a smart speaker.? https://t.co/L0APJ7MiQq

I’ve been thinking about the iPad connecting one for ages and that’s a fantastic idea.

The Apple TV box HomePod combo with a camera seems weird tbh https://t.co/Zv4fJAtAYV
The tech industry has been trying to turn the TV into a videoconferencing machine forever--some of you will even remember Cisco's Ume--but it hasn't really stuck. I think the idea still has tons of untapped potential. https://t.co/E3s2zCgAWO
