Very good interview, Zuck clearly spending a lot of time thinking about Facebook’s future in the 2030s and a world where FB has bulldozed mobile’s gatekeepers https://t.co/u2meQFBSuY

Not a fan boy of any organization or any entity, will never be, may be in the next life... However, I have to say Mark's interview for future of VR and AR is spot on. Listen to it carefully: https://t.co/rbazzfQoeh

AR can deal well with small, crowded spaces mainly because you'll see what's real. Matching up your table and chairs to your friend's so it all makes sense is harder.

Eye-tracking and neural interfaces are much scarier to me, esp. given the ad biz. I hear no caution from FB.

"Unlike some of the other companies in the space that basically charge premium prices as their business model, one of our core principles is we want to serve everyone."

A jab at Apple! I admire Zuck's principle of access pic.twitter.com/gP5gS8a296
The thing that strikes me the most is the increasingly acknowledgment/interest in eye tracking. I asked about this in 2019 and the answer I got seemed less convinced of its immediate need https://t.co/XswNa8Z2KF

I just listened to @theinformation's interview with Mark Zuckerberg on the Future of AR & VR, which focuses on the technical & business aspects (no ethics or privacy questions from @alexeheath or @mathewolson).

Lots of good stuff in here: focusing on getting products to as many as possible, disconnecting geography from opportunity via next-gen remote work in VR, and more! https://t.co/yaWrA6zDpS
— Mike Schroepfer (@schrep) March 8, 2021
This interview also makes me think that a headset from @oculus with eye tracking and face tracking is coming sooner then we think. It can be “good enough” in a first gen device to add high social value imo, even if it doesn’t work well for foveated rendering. https://t.co/OrEBP66wo0
— Gerald McAlister (@gemisisDev) March 9, 2021
This (great) interview really reminds me that the whole “the ultimate AR would be feeling like somebody’s sitting in a room with you” trope feels predicated on having a much bigger, emptier living space than I think lots of people actually have. https://t.co/u1qwCZr7Of

Is Apple Voldemort? Zuckerberg says so much about how he sees the rivalry between Apple and Facebook without ever mentioning Apple's name.https://t.co/tcxB5GpUpj

If you didn’t already think he is passionate about AR/VR you will after this chat. It’s clearly where he is spending a lot of time (he gets to work on it during “good weeks”) https://t.co/JzXZEgyecH
Another interesting bit from Zuckerberg is Facebook Reality Lab is working on hardware that 2-3 generations out that has eye tracking & facial/emotional tracking built in.
