@Apple has threatened to remove Amphetamine from the @AppStore if it is not completely rebranded and all "illegal drug" references aren't removed by 1/12/21. Help #SaveAmphetamine with a RT and by signing this petition! https://t.co/1A45JqG6T5❤️

I've seen a lot of ridiculous claims by Apple over the years, but this one may take the cake. https://t.co/TzzVXHgShK

Or, imagine Apple realizing their awesome power in the AppStore and dumping the Breitbart app. Maybe doing something bold with https://t.co/MVsN89D2aR to combat fake news. That’s something worth facing anti-trust scrutiny for! Nope. Apple prefers to just dump Chinese games.

That’s pretty much what happened to @colorsnapper! We wanted to submit a tiny update and it got rejected after years being on the Mac App Store. https://t.co/4WVEnsoMLE

The casualties of Apple’s capricious gatekeeping are everywhere. Every time you submit an app update, you’re running the risk that something that was fine for years suddenly isn’t. Completely insufferable. Access to main computing platforms must be regulated as common carriers. https://t.co/rQ6I1PiC98

Hey @vestager, may I posit a simple New Years wish? Treat the app stores as common carriers. Regulate the rates such that all developers pay the same, and according to cost. That denial of service can’t be this ludicrously capricious. And do it in 2021, not 2031 ??❤️ https://t.co/n8VcVxMDQy

“Apple contacted and informed me that, after 6 years on the Mac App Store, Amphetamine had spontaneously began violating one of Apple's App Store Guidelines”, another day, another capricious, inconsistent, unfair, backdated, incompetent abuse of power. https://t.co/lqO7U4EI19

Apple: This app that simply keeps your computer from going to sleep is promoting drug use.

The guidlines and citation dont even agree. Guideline: “cant encourage use” citation: “contains reference to”.

If Apple’s going to do this whole walled garden thing, they really need to make it way less arbitrary. https://t.co/UG5aC7TmwK
As I hit "Buy Movie" in the Prime Video app (which only Amazon is allowed to do), it saddens me that the entire AppStore infrastructure is wielded as a comically complicated bargaining chip just so that Apple and Amazon can bully each other into... not charging each other fees.
— Francisco Tolmasky (@tolmasky) January 2, 2021
I expect to be insulted & attacked for this, however:
— Brock Gunter-Smith (@brockgs) January 1, 2021
1. I love the app
2. Big Pharma and the FDA disgust me (generally)
3. I don’t like that a controlled substance that is habit forming, ripe for abuse and overdose is the brand image
4. Apple is puritanical, that’s their choice
This isn’t a huge issue. Drug abuse is a huge issue and while it’s silly that Apple hasn’t enforced this before, all that’s required is a name change and icon adjustment to not encourage the use of uppers.

Find another windmill, Quixote. https://t.co/b3sV3Yndrn
Apple wants to ban the “Amphetamine” app in the name of moral order: “Specifically, your app name and icon include references to controlled substances, pills.”

Jobs was a promoter of LSD, Cook and the moderators should try too, it may open their minds. https://t.co/kPin12NnU6
It kind of feels like how on Day 1 of the Trump presidency he just tried to get better hotel deals with foreign countries. It was like, really, that was the big plan? That’s how you’re going to abuse the office? At least do something more diabolical! This is just… boring. Tacky.

?♂️ https://t.co/1bRu85K40l

These stories of Apple arbitrarily punishing apps that have existed for years are getting exhausting https://t.co/mOYdRzvMrT pic.twitter.com/NUMNpkmiDV

Ridiculous.

Some Mac App Store minion is threatening to remove Amphetamine from the store because its name and icon supposedly promote drug use.
The app keeps your Mac awake. It’s a good name. Has been featured in the App Store. What gives @tim_cook?https://t.co/HtYrHXwRCI
